Norway - NAF campsites
We missed out a visit to Alesund as we decided to head towards Kristiansund. Oh dear, we shouldn’t have bothered – so we treated ourselves to a burger (!!) which is something we never eat.
We both felt uncomfortable in Kristiansund so we left pretty dam quick! We have no idea why we had this feeling but both of us felt the same.
We had 4 ferry crossings today – bloody expensive!! We stayed on the E39 and decided to stop just before Trondheim in Orkanger. The E39 was smooth and fairly easy riding except for long sections where rebuilding work is carried out and the temporary surface is just compacted earth and rock. The GS here is the perfect bike. The views of the Fjords here really are majestic and so wonderfully calming.
Where we ended up camping was part of the group called NAF campsites, at Trasavika, Viggja. NAF stands for Norges Automobil Forbund but Lisa found the name NAF for a campsite organisation hilarious as naff, in this day and age in the UK, means something extremely tacky and distasteful.
