Join us for a unique Photographic and photo editing workshop and we promise you'll see immediate improvements whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced photographer.

With Lisa and myself as your guides and workshop leaders we will visit some of the most stunning locations in Wales and side-by-side we will show you exactly how to ‘get the shot’: What settings to use and when, how to adapt to changing light, what to look for and what to focus on to create professional engaging images that you’ll want to share. In the Expedition Centre's main studio we will then go through your images, critique them and teach you the essential editing techniques to enhance your images and give them a professional look.

Who Is The Workshop For?

The simple answer is everyone that simply wants to take better photos.

Lisa and I understand that most people don't want to be professional photographers. But most of us do want to be able to take better photos. We all want to feel that we actualy understand the expensive cameras in our hands and that we can capture images that does the view justice. Let's be honest we would all like to think we can create photos that contain more colour, more detail, and that draw in and then hold your viewers attention.

If you shoot the majority of your photos in 'Auto-mode' or you simply want to improve your in-camera skills and understanding, then this course is for you.

Whether you’ve been shooting for a while or are a beginner just wanting to improve your current understanding, our Living Lens Photographic Workshop will teach you digital photography basics and give you a solid foundation helping to improve your images immediately. We will cover everything from camera settings, camera setup, location setup and composition through to editing your images to give them a professional look.

Will I Learn How To Edit my Photos?

Yes you will. Capturing the image is just part of the story. In today's digital age, most photos still need a little processing or editing to really make them 'pop'. We'd all like our images to have a little 'WOW' in them. Which is why our Workshop incorporates post processing classes.

Lisa and I have been professionally editing images for over 20-years, both for ourselves and international clients around the world, from book covers to billboards. Trust me, we know that editing can be daunting, but it doesn't need to be. Editing an image to really make it stand out from the crowd used to take us a couple of hours, but today the same edit can take as little as 30-seconds. It's simply about using the right tools, in the right way. Let us share what we've learnt with you. You'll be amazed at how easy and fast editing can be and the power it can unleash in your images.

How long Does The Workshop Last?

The entire workshop is a little over two and half days. Students arrive on Thursday afternoon and are greeted with tea and cake and are invited to depart mid-day on a Sunday after a great breakfast and course wind-up.

How Many Students Do You Allow Per Workshop?

The course is only available to limited number of 8-12 clients to ensure that each client gets our full attention. But, the classes are just half the fun!

Is Accommodation Provided?

The answer is yes! Our aim is to create an enviroment, that allows you to simply relax, learn and enjoy. We'll take care of the accomodation, and all meals.

What Happens When We get Hungry?

We all learn more effectively when our bellies aren't rumbling. We serve tea and home baked cakes on arrivial and we'll start each day with a proper cooked breakfast. During the day we'll provide a delicious packed lunch and beverage which we'll enjoy while we're out shooting on location. After the last afternoon class, we'll invite you to relax and chat before you sit down to an evening meal.

Simply put, the three course evening meal is a highlight of the evening. Vegetables grown in the Centre's organic garden compliments a meat or vegetarian menu sourced locally. From field to plate in less than 5 miles. Wine included.
