Lisa Update
We wanted to say thank you to everyone that has taken the time to send Lisa and I notes of support and get well messages. It really does mean a lot.
Update:
Yesterday morning was the first time since the fall that Lisa actually said "I actually feel brighter today".
She is still extremely tired and the pounding headaches haven't subsided, but her facial injuries are healing well and the swelling is going down.
Lisa is a very fast healer and the improvement in her face and swelling really is substantial. Even the bruising is clearing up. Internally however, it's another story.
Because Lisa bled so heavily and for so long after the fall, her nasal passages, sinuses and internal head space is choked with blood and other fluids that the body produces when injured.
Right now we're working hard with traditional medicines as well as essentials oils and steam baths to try to clear as much of this out of Lisa skull as possible.
Lisa's had a few really low points over the last few days, but that's to be expected as she's not felt well enough to leave the room we're in. For someone that's used to riding, and being outside all the time, it's been a tough adjustment.
The messages of good-will and get better soon notes, have made a real difference and genuinely lift her mood, and are so appreciated. So, again, thank you to everyone that's emailed or left a post on our Facebook page or Instagram.
The next step
We'll be flying from Kingston Jamaica on the 28th in the afternoon, direct to Panama City, Panama. The ship the Stahlratte will be unloading our bikes and all our gear on the morning of the 1st June, at a small port 4hours from Panama City, so we have no real choice other than to meet it and collect our belongings.
We've had tremendous offers of support from friends in Panama, which has meant that I'm able to collect our bikes and gear and Lisa can rest.
We trying to raise a few dollars to cover expences and we have a huge range of BMW R1200GS/GSA LC and F800GS parts for sale, that we put to one side, when we did the bike rebuild in LA. If anyone is interested in any of the parts, we have a full list and contact details on this page.” |
